Creating a DIY lightbox
Looking for a fun photography project you can try at home? Why not make your a DIY lightbox? It doesnโt require very much, and you may already have most of what is required at home. Using a macro lens and a slice of orange (fresh and dried), I captured some incredible detail images with the light from below making the fruit translucent and glow.
The DIY lightbox setup
A sheet of white opaque acrylic (Perspex); mine is approximately 900mm x 600mm
A couple of chairs or low stools
Citrus sliced, I used fresh and dried (you could use pretty much any fruit or object that is translucent)
Water and paper towel for cleanup
Camera gear and settings
Godox AD200 Pro speedlight (1/16 power), with diffusion dome
Godox trigger X1
Sony a7R V: ISO200, f/6.3, 1/160secs
