Godox Magic XT1 2.4GHz Wireless Microphone System: Review

Godox Magic XT1 2.4GHz Wireless Microphone System: Review

The Godox Magic XT1 is a fabulous new 2.4GHZ wireless microphone system on the market. It presents a ground breaking new appearance with a transmitter-in-receiver structure for both Transmitters charging & storage in one Receiver unit, delivering magical portability for interviews, live streams, outdoor shooting and more.

Please keep in mind when reading and watching the video, I am not an expert with audio (or video) and this is just a laymanโ€™s review for a photographer in a small home studio. I donโ€™t have any fancy gear when it comes to recording and editing audio and video.

Please note: Godox sent me the Magic XT1 Wireless Microphone Kit for review and keep, but all comments and opinions are my own.

Iโ€™ve put the XT1 through some trials and am extremely happy with the outcome. With my mirrorless camera (Sony A7RV), it worked really well. Even my initial tests which I did in the backyard against ambient noise like, wind, birds, barking dogs (in the distance) and running and splashing water worked a treat.

Godox Magic XT1 Microphone โ€” In use

The controls are easy to set and see. The actual microphone is easy to wear and comfortable with the magnetic clip attachment. A great feature is the carrying case/docking station which acts as a charger. If you are only using one microphone the other can be staying fully charged. When you switch you have freshly charged units ready to go. I have not had a chance to try two mics and to be honest I probably never will, as I donโ€™t really interview people, but being able to switch them out is great. I was impressed when I went out in the backyard and how clear my voice was against the background noise too. So this would be handy while shooting on location. Itโ€™s super handy to have on the camera and grab a microphone when required.

When you consider the price of the Godox Magic XT1 compared to similar in the market it offers amazing value and it just worked so well. I loved how easy it was to set up and use and the audio (for my purposes) was terrific. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wireless microphone.
