Why changing your room colour, means updating your monitor calibration

We just painted our home office, it was a sunny bright yellow, all the rage twenty years ago, but not brilliant for photo editing. So now itโ€™s a nice modern mid grey with black and white trim and accents. While that is cause for celebration (itโ€™s only taken years of talking about it), itโ€™s also a really good idea to re-calibrate our monitors.

Did you know

Did you know that your room color can make a huge difference to the color cast on your monitor? Especially if itโ€™s a nice, bright sunny yellow! So while you should be doing a re-calibration every 1-2 months anyway. IF you are doing a spot of home renovating itโ€™s a great idea to totally re-calibrate your monitors too. Itโ€™s also a really good idea to research what colour is a good fit for your working environment. We figured a mid-tone grey worked well for both of us and worked well with the rest of the house too.

Spyder X Pro makes it easy

I have been using the SpyderX Pro, for a few months now, it is super quick and easy to use, just a few minutes and youโ€™re back to editing like a pro again. Check out an article I write a little while back about using it for the first time.

So donโ€™t forget, if you re-paint, itโ€™s time re-calibrate.
