Join me, Julie Powell, for a fun-filled afternoon in the studio to learn and create gorgeous Still Life image, in both Natural Light and Artificial Light. The essence of dark and moody and soft & dreamy is learning to work in minimal light, dramatic shadows and incredible details.

We will be working with small and intimate subjects from sumptuous fruit and gorgeous flowers. All items for subject, props, lighting and staging are supplied, you only need your camera gear.

This workshop will cover the basics in lighting, staging, camera settings and styling for Still Life with topics discussed:

• Dark and Moody/ Soft and Dreamy - adding atmosphere

• Get off Auto - get confident in Manual and Aperture Priority Modes

• Artificial & Subtle Natural Lighting - learn to harness the light

Requirements:

• DSLR camera or Mirrorless camera, as long as you can change lenses. Also, bringing your manual is a good idea if you aren't overly familiar with your camera.

• a 35-50mm lens or 24-70mm is suitable (macro is good too)

• tripod (a must)

• remote shutter release (wireless or cabled) - optional

• spare battery

• SD Cards.
