Viking Shieldmaiden

Inspired by Lagertha herself, the very essence of a strong, brave, independent woman. She led armies, raised families and led a kingdom (Kattegat). Lagertha was an incredible Viking Shieldmaiden who witnessed and lived through adversity (so we are told through legend). Once married to Ragnar Lodbrok, her son became a great warrior and led armies against the Saxons.

While not historically accurate (in costume and makeup), we wanted to capture the ‘vibe’ of a Viking Shieldmaiden. We used what was at hand, or we could source and make ourselves on little to no budget.
