A Private Group has already done a version of this class and they loved it (yes the same group that did the Introduction Course)…online learning doesn’t get better than this!
“Julie’s approach to teaching is just awesome! no question is left unanswered and her professional approach has made us feel comfortable to speak up and ask what we may feel is something silly to ask Be answered with the way we can understand. Julie has made this experience so joyful and fun I have since enrolled in two more of her classes she runs and I look forward to participating in many more of her classes in the future.
I was a little worried about doing it this way at first, but I think its actually better because if you forget something you can go back and look at it again.”
“am currently participating in an Abobe Lightroom course through The Basin Community House with Julie Powell as our teacher. When we all signed up to this course, we expected to be taught face to face at the centre, however, due to the Covid 19 pandemic this was quickly changed to online classes through Zoom meetings.
I have no doubt we would all agree that Julie has been quite amazing. Very quickly, we were not only introduced to online learning through a platform I’m not sure any of us had experience with, but also, we were guided through Lightroom. Julie has provided very comprehensive notes in a beautifully presented booklet, as well as a quite extraordinary amount of screen snips and videos, taking us through the various aspects of photo editing.
Julie is concise and methodical in her teaching giving very clear guidance and support. The lessons are well planned and carried out in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. In just three sessions I have become familiar with the layout and tools needed to edit photos, as well as, knowing how to setup a catalogue and export final images. I am gaining confidence and really enjoying my new skills. I look forward to the classes, and through the connection to my classmates and Julie, I am sure even after the next and final class that we will continue as a supportive group.
I would certainly recommend Julie, for her teaching skills and confidence in skills that she inspires.”
“I was wanting to know more about post-processing of digital photos and wondering how to go about it. I had dabbled with several post-processing software packages and was having difficulty in understanding them, I wanted to find out how post-processing could help me and wanted to decide whether I really wanted to get do it anyway.
I found out about Julie’s course from a digital photography course I was doing at The Basin Community Centre. I have completed a number of digital photography at The Basin Community Centre and I have learnt a lot from them.
So it was not a difficult decision to do another course at the Centre on post-processing of photos with Julie.
As with the other courses this course was no different. It was informative and great for a beginner like me. The course helped me to come to grips with post-processing. Julie put together a great course, making Lightroom easy to understand and it has helped me immensely.
I have a basic understanding of the LightRoom software and although my results are far from excellent, I have a way forward and with practice, I will be able to become a competent user of the LightRoom Package.
Thank you, Julie”

“I want to thank you very much for the great Lightroom lessons via zoom. In the comfort of my own home I learnt just as much as I would in a class, perhaps more so. A positive out of the negative of this current world. ”
“The course and content on Lightroom was excellent it has really complemented the photography course that I have done at the Basin. The availability of the videos that relate to the subjects were very good to review after each lesson it reinforced the all items that were covered in the lessons. Having Julie’s support to help in solve issues during the week was an added bonus.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone that would like to have great looking photos.
If there is another course in Lightroom that would add on to the basics we have covered I am very interested in attending.

“thank you for another comprehensive and informative course. I am a current Lightroom User, I still benefited by learning some new tips and tricks to help improve my photo editing skills. The format of learning was new in these trying times, but I think the format worked very well.”
